More info

ACTIVE STUDIO MONITOR Designed for small studio spaces, short listening distances, and immersive multi-speaker setups, the A4V delivers precise, full-bodied sound in a compact form factor. This two-way speaker features a 4-inch long-throw woofer made from the same Multi-Layered Mineral Fibers (MLM) as other A-series speakers, plus the classic X-ART tweeter. Built-in DSP-based tuning capabilities let you easily dial in the perfect sound for your space. With a frequency range of 53 Hz to 42 kHz, the A4V can accommodate a wide spectrum of audio applications, from podcast production to string quartet mixing, and is perfectly suited to both 5.1 and 7.1 setups.

Integrated technologies and innovations:

Rotatable HPS waveguide and X-ART tweeter

ADAM Audio HPS (High Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology enables the tweeters to disperse sound with controlled consistency. Broad on the horizontal axis but narrowly focused on the vertical plane. The A-series features a rotatable design HPS waveguide. The A-series tweeters can be rotated in 90-degree steps to continue to benefit from HPS waveguide technology, whether you position the speaker horizontally or vertically.

The A-series HPS waveguide is made from a new glass-fiber polymer composite that helps create a sound that is clear and free of unwanted resonances. The ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter is the heart of the HPS waveguide. Handcrafted in Germany, it provides accurate transient response and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in all A-series speakers and provides detailed sound across the entire product line.

Mineral multilayer woofer

A-series woofers are constructed from a unique combination of mineral stone fibers that have been baked together to create a lightweight, yet highly stable material. The mineral composition, the layers and the geometry of each cone are specific to each model. By combining this material with a new magnet system, the A-series woofers produce high output with low distortion, delivering unparalleled clean sound.

Hybrid Amplification

The A Series combines the best of the digital and analog worlds. The woofers are driven by Class D amplifiers that produce linear performance while reducing distortion. These amplifiers have been specifically designed with power and efficiency in mind, both in terms of power consumption and sound reproduction.

The tweeters are powered by Class AB amplifiers that deliver smooth, natural high-frequency reproduction. Each amplifier is optimized for its operating range.

DSP based electronics
The A-series harnesses the transformative power of DSP-based electronics to provide greater tuning accuracy and better predictability. With firmware that can be upgraded over an Ethernet connection, any future A-series monitor will be able to implement enhancements based on ADAM Audio's DSP, including new filter types and features, as well as alternate voices.

Adaptation of listening environments
The true magic of the A-series lies here, it matches the sound of the monitor to the sound of the room, seamlessly, as simple as that:
On the back panel of the A-Series speakers, you'll find four room-adaptive EQ bands: Bass, Desk, Presence, and Treble. Each band can be adjusted in predefined steps, offering more than 100 tuning options to help compensate for typical acoustic problems that arise from speaker placement.

default voices
A 'voice' is a predefined sound profile of the A-Series monitors. On the rear panel, you will find three different options, 'UNR', 'Pure' and 'Ext', which can be easily selected via a switch lever.

“UNR” or “Uniform Natural Response™” is a natural-sounding, dynamic response curve of ADAM Audio's own design, derived from a variety of iconic ADAM Audio legacy products, including the previous AX Series. It lends itself to production, or composition.

“Pure” is a highly accurate and neutral sound option. This is the 'flat' setup, ideal for mixing and mastering, where you really need to be aware of all the details and rely on an honest representation of your speakers.

The 'Ext' voice option is dedicated to the extended functionality that comes with A Control over the Ethernet connection.

“A-Control” (real-time remote control)
The DSP functions of all A-series monitors can be remotely controlled in real time via Ethernet using the free downloadable “A-Control” software. A-Control is available for Windows and MacOS.

Once downloaded and installed, you can control multiple speakers at once, fine-tuning equalization from various listening positions in your studio space. While you work, you can remotely control the monitor levels from here. Remote control capabilities are particularly useful in multi-purpose rooms, allowing you to ensure voice, EQ and settings are exactly how you want them.

Room fixes and Sonarworks integration
A-series loudspeakers are designed to adapt to changing requirements, preferences and environments. With A-Control software, you can send advanced room correction models directly to the monitors' board to help compensate for imperfect room acoustics. This integrated platform supports industry-leading third-party Sonarworks models. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone, you can calibrate your monitors for a new room or to tweak the one you currently have in use.

Bass Reflex System, Enclosures and Mounting
The new A Series cabinets build on the heritage of ADAM Audio and the AX Series in particular. In an evolutionary design, the A Series cabinets have a deeper bevel to further reduce diffraction. Additionally, thicker baffle walls strengthen the case structure itself and reduce internal vibrations, while a two-sided flared port design optimizes airflow and reduces port noise. All A-series loudspeakers include a mounting interface on the bottom, giving you the flexibility to mount A-series loudspeakers where you need them.
