Smartgain simultaneously and fully automatically adjusts the gain of all eight channels at the touch of a button. The ultra-fast Smartgain algorithm technology uses advanced peak analysis to analyze, adjust and automatically set the gain to the perfect levels, and this is done in less than 20 seconds. It works simultaneously on all 8 mic channels, preventing clipping and saving a tremendous amount of time and trouble. EVO 16 also incorporates the powerful new Motion UI control system, which has been designed to change the way the user interacts with their audio interface. It is the first interface that includes a high resolution color screen that intelligently displays all the information that the user needs, allowing the use of EVO 16 to become a fully immersive and very easy to use experience. Every setting, every detail or every button press is displayed in real time on the 240 x 240 backlit TFT LCD display, allowing easy navigation through the hardware possibilities, making changes on the fly and having full control over the hardware. the recording session without having to attend to the computer. EVO 16 is ready for the user to expand their system whenever they want, thanks to the presence of two optical inputs and two optical outputs, which support both ADAT and SPDIF, which makes it easy to add up to 16 microphone preamplifier channels to the system. EVO 16 features eight line outputs, two dedicated headphone outputs (with their own amplifier) and two JFET instrument inputs, designed to replicate the input stage of vintage tube amps. It is also possible to use the line outputs to send audio to external equipment, such as compressors or FX units. EVO 16 offers extensive monitoring functionalities. It is possible to switch between two pairs of monitors using the ALT Monitor function, check the mix in mono or communicate with the artist using the Talkback function. The latter allows you to use any source connected to the computer as a talkback source; for example a USB microphone, thus freeing up valuable preamps. All of these possibilities are accessible from the front panel of the unit, with the additional advantage that it is possible to customize which control is assigned to the F button. EVO 16 uses high-speed USB, which allows monitoring with ultra-low latency. The EVO Mixer allows you to easily adjust and route inputs and outputs, with ultra-low latency, set up custom headphone mixes for the musician, and much more. It is compatible with MacOS and Windows. The unit has a solid steel chassis, a bright display suitable for any lighting and that allows viewing from any angle and can be used both in desktop format (with non-slip rubber feet), or installed in a rack (with the help of of the optional rack ears).
