Nero is a new desktop monitor controller that offers a wide palette of inputs and outputs, professional console-style monitor control, assignable sub output, Precision Matched Attenuation technology and much more. It has been designed to become the nerve center of the studio, as it provides centralized and customizable control capable of satisfying all monitoring needs, in desktop format. It has four stereo analog inputs, including two line-level inputs, a specific cue mix input, an auxiliary input (RCA or mini Jack) and both optical and coaxial inputs, which provide a wide variety of connectivity options. These inputs can be sent to its three speaker outputs (with the ability to adjust and adjust volumes), an assignable sub output and four headphone outputs. Audient has also developed Precision Matched Attenuation technology, which takes care of perfectly matching the volume of the left and right channels of the stereo signal. Unlike other monitor controllers, this prevents any deviation in volume between the left and right monitors, allowing for an accurate and completely reliable mix. Basing its functionality on that of the Centro monitor controller, Nero draws inspiration from Audient's rich heritage in analog console design, and offers a wide range of flexible monitoring controls, including dedicated talkback, Cut & Dim controls, polarity, mono, speaker selection and Cue Mix monitoring; In addition, it also introduces the new concept that Smart Touchpoints represent. Smart Touchpoints are configurable buttons that allow you to customize your workflow on the fly. Simply press and hold a touchpoint to enter configuration mode, and simply route, configure and save different combinations of Nero monitoring controls to suit the user's needs. For example, permanently route the subwoofer to any or all pairs of monitors, without losing the ability to turn it on or off. Or permanently add one output to mono for use with a mono reference speaker. As for talkback, Nero has an internal microphone, as well as a specific microphone input, equipped with phantom power, allowing the use of any dynamic or condenser microphone. It is possible to route any input source, as well as the talkback, to any headphone output, allowing full control over the session at all times.
