At Beyma we tackle the problem of heat dissipation with one clear goal in mind: the loudspeaker must deliver the best performance in the system in a consistent and reliable way, maximizing the total SPL and keeping it stable.
It is well known that the overall SPL of a system suffers a drop after some time working due to the effect of power compression. It is also known that typically the larger the voice coil diameter, the lower the power compression and the higher the power capacity, but it also means larger motor frames to get a high level of transducer output.
The Maltcross cooling technology that we offer to the professional audio market through our speakers, brings together several solutions to meet our objective; On the one hand, it allows the loudspeaker to handle higher powers with a given coil diameter, so we can think of designs with smaller diameter coils and therefore smaller motor structures, reducing weight but increasing sensitivity and maintaining handling. of adequate power for a given target application, maintaining a total output SPL level that can be equivalent to a loudspeaker with a larger motor frame.
Maltcross technology is a forced convection circuit inside the heart of the loudspeaker that reduces the working temperature of the voice coil and also acts as a demodulator ring, linearizing the inductance of the transducer.
