Godin is proud to present the redesigned A5 Ultra Natural Fretless Semi-Acoustic Bass! An instrument that remains true to Godin's standards of innovation, high-quality construction and design. The A5 semi-acoustic bass is constructed with a dual-chambered Canadian Laurentian basswood body, solid spruce top, maple neck, and Richlite fingerboard. The A5 also features a thumb rest mounted on the top of the lid to ensure a comfortable playing position. What sets the A5 apart is its two-voice pickup system with integrated controls. This allows the bassist to choose between the magnetic Lace Sensor pickup for a modern, dynamic sound, or the individual LR Baggs transducers in the bridge that deliver an authentic acoustic double bass sound. The magnetic pickup is controlled by 2 pots, one volume and one tone mounted on the body rim, with the LR Baggs bridge transducers controlled by a custom preamp mounted on top. These ergonomic sliders let you adjust the volume, treble, midrange and bass, as well as the overdrive control to warm up your sound. There is also a “Fat Switch” selector that acts as a “Booster” for mid-bass, which in turn reinforces the presence. The A5 offers two individual outputs, as well as a combined "mix" output for greater versatility.
