The MOTU 8M is equipped with 8 mic preamps with individual gain, attenuation and 48 volt phantom, plus the hardware-based V-Limit limiting can be turned on or off at will which adds an extra 9dB of dynamic range above digital zero in order to to avoid input saturation.

It has a huge routing patch that allows the unit to patch inputs to outputs or split inputs to reach multiple destinations. You can use the 8M as a standalone mixer and control everything from the 8M's innovative web app that will run on your iPad, iPhone, Android tablet or smartphone, and any laptop too. It is only necessary to have a web browser and there is no need to download any application. We can connect a second interface of the MOTU AVB series with a simple Ethernet cable in order to add more inputs and outputs to the system, using the AVB series switch (sold separately). Build in this way an entire AVB audio network with multiple switches acting as network nodes and one or more interfaces connected to them in any combination and all with glogbal latency of a few milliseconds, even through long cables in different rooms.

We can send hundreds of input or output channels between all the devices and equipment connected to the network, keeping the cost of cabling and installation at very low levels.
