SOUND MODULE OR SYNTHESIZER The OB-X8 synthesizer is designed to bring classic Oberheim tone to a new generation. Now all of the OB-X8's presets, synthesis functions, and sound editing controls are available in a compact desktop version. Although this version doesn't have the 61-note Fatar keyboard or the pitch and mod levers, it's still a powerful synth in a handy size for small studios or taking on the road. The tabletop OB-X8 has a sound engine identical to the keyboard version, with a full analog signal path and function buttons to access virtually all synth parameters and create unique sounds. The OB-X8's analog signal path is the same as the OB-X, OB-Xa, and OB-8 that were used on many iconic recordings. The synth includes all the classic 'Page 2' parameters of the OB-8, as well as new ones for 2022, and offers the ability to combine elements from all three OB models to create new sounds.
