The Gemini II dual valve microphone is already a piece of the history of microphones built without limitation. The dual valve design means pure valve heat thanks to the 12AX7 inlet valve, along with a 12AU7 valve on the outlet stage. The result is an incredibly large, detailed and intimate sound, reminiscent of classic tube microphones from decades ago, but with a completely modern twist.


DOUBLE VALVE DESIGN

Most microphones use a transformer to optimize the microphone's output impedance and couple the capsule to the microphone preamplifier. With the Gemini II, this optimization is accomplished with a second vacuum tube, which nullifies any high-frequency drop that is generally incurred by a transformer.

This gives the Gemini IIs a brilliant, pristine, high-end treble found only in the more expensive solid-state electronics microphones, while maintaining that thick, rich hue of a tube microphone.

Not just for vocals, the bass cut filter and -10dB pad make the Gemini handy for much louder and more powerful sources like drum mic or orchestral timpani jacks.
